Mid Winter 2014

During the mid to late part of the Winter Season most people are probably not thinking of their lawns. However, this is one of the best times to get started on that dream lawn and landscape for the 2014 Season. Tree and shrub pruning is ideal now due to the lack of foliage on most types of trees. Trees limbs are more easily accessible without all of the leaves in the way. Too, foliage takes up more room in haul off equipment adding more trips to the compost facility. And time is money. Leaves should be vacuumed up now rather than later.

Fall Clean Up

Fall Is Here! This year All Seasons Landscape will be offeringcurbside/drive-way pick upfor leaf pick up. Many people are willing to rake or blow their own leaves but find it a hassle to dispose of the leaves after gathering them into piles. Ittakestoo long and there are too many bags to deal with. That's where we come in. Just consolidate the leaves into a neat pile by the street or drive and we will come vacuum them up. Fast and easy. Of course we can blow the leaves into piles for you and take them away.

To all of our future customers (and even those who decide to go with a different company ), before you start a fertilizing regime or landscape project -get your soil tested. I would safely say that 99% of the people I give estimates  to never have thought of getting their soil tested.  Just as you can't build a house without a foundation, your lawn and landscape need a good healthy foundation to flourish. So ask your current lawn service company what kind of fertilizer are they putting down.

'Tis the season....

During this time of the year most people probably aren't thinking about their lawns. For the most part it is still cool outside though many days it's been quite warm. The days are getting longer and Spring will be here in no time.If you have been considering weed control for your lawn now is the time to start. The two most important applications for weed control take place in early Spring. If you wait until your lawn is green and vigorously growing, chances are the weeds will be well established.

Blue Atlas Cedar used in a bad landscape design. Poor maintenance and plant care.

In the many years that I have been landscaping, the one detrimental trait I have seen in so many self proclaimed landscapers is myopia (2: a lack of foresight or discernment: a narrow view of something). I have posted a photo of a tree that within the past few years has become a crowning element used in so many landscapes. The tree is a Blue Atlas Cedar and it happens to be a favorite of mine. However, that doesn't mean I  implement it in every one of my designs.
